12/21/13 PICK A GIFT
The gift of Adam or the Gift of God; which will you give during the Holy Days?
Adam, as the father of the human race, bequeathed sin, shame, suffering, sickness and separation to all of his children, because he chose to disobey God and to please himself instead.
God, as the heavenly Father, gave His Son, as a Babe in Bethlehem, as the Conqueror of Calvary, as the Lord of Life and the Prince of Peace, because He loved loved us so much that He Sacrificed His Son to Save Us from Our Sins.
As children of Adam, we pass on the nature of rebellion to our own children. Too often we pass on the evil ways and self serving beliefs or our own rebellion.
But for those who trust in Christ as the One Who will save us from our sins, Christians pass on the love and life of Christ to our children.
Our legacy, our gift to our children and grandchildren will either be a life lived in the power and purity of Christ or a future filled with futility. There is no hope for our offspring, outside of Jesus. Look at the direction of a world that does not trust and obey God.
So, accept the gift of love and life as you celebrate His birth, and give the Gift of love and life by passing on the true meaning of His birth to others.
