12/29/13 FOR THE NEW YEAR...
Concerning our relationship with God, here is the attitude, the worldview, the approach we should take as we exit 2013 and enter 2014:
2 Corinthians 5:17
(17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
The Negative Side...
Whatever is counterproductive or compromising to our Christian development should be left behind us, whether our thoughts, words or deeds; whether our activities or associations. Repent (turn from, change your mind) concerning the old things of sin; die to the things that draw us away from intimacy with Christ.
The Positive Side...
Whatever will transform us from light to light, from faith to faith, from strength to strength, from grace to grace; whatever will conform us to the image of Christ, we should surrender to it, follow after it, embrace it; including thoughts, words and deeds; activities and associations. Always recognize that full commitment includes death to the negative, and life to the Spirit of God.
