02/15/13 BEWARE WHEN THE JACKALS ARE IN CHARGE
I was involved in a discussion recently about the role of government in maintaining a moral standard in society. Some people who said that government has no business enforcing moral standards, went on to show their own lack of morality by making crude and offensive comments.
How interesting, those who argue against enforced morality often use crudeness. Of course, they deny that murder and stealing are moral issues, which are also legal issues.
ANYWAY, my point is, when someone says that morals should be left up to the individuals, you might want to vacate the area, because the gainsayer is likely to break forth in a torrent of profane, profligate and prurient attacks. Society is in trouble when the people who have a very low standard of morals are in charge of setting the moral standard.
As I have said, low morals and crudeness go together. And, it is not going to get any better.
