03/25/13 LOSS AT A LOWER LEVEL

There are mixed feelings when a person stands on the pier and waves good-bye to a loved one who is leaving on a pleasure or business trip. Whether there are plans to return or relocate, there is a sense of loss and disappointment.


Likewise, there is a great sense of loss and sorrow when a person stands beside a deathbed saying his last good-byes to a loved one who has suffered an horrendous sickness or is the victim of a sudden tragedy.

HOWEVER, when a person stands in a courtroom and watches a loved one being led away to pay the ultimate price for an horrific crime, or when a person stands beside the deathbed of a loved one who is the victim of self inflicted violence, the sorrow sinks to a much deeper level.

Parents and Pastors suffer heartbreak when loved ones leave an empty place at the table, but the heartbreak is beyond words when the loved one is turning from their Christian heritage, with the possibility that they will never sit together at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
