03/30/113 BE BOLD

The city was astir with the news that Jesus of Nazareth had been beaten within an inch of His life and then brutally hanged on a tree, where He died.

The homeland security (Roman soldiers) and local authorities (Jewish leaders) were concerned about His followers raising a coup, so they heightened the terrorist alert, and set a guard at the tomb with His dead body.

On the first day of the week there was frantic rumor that either He had raised Himself from the dead (as He said He would), or His body had been stolen away by His followers, falsely claiming His resurrection.

NOW THINK ABOUT IT.

Do you really think the government leaders (Roman and Jewish), the religious leaders (Sadducees, Herodians, Pharisees, Priesthood), or the citizenry at large were walking around saying, "He is risen."

NO WAY. However, today everybody goes around saying "Happy Easter" or "Happy Resurrection," and they will say, "He is Risen," tomorrow. How different from those who knew it would cost them their lives to follow Jesus.

But how different they are from those whose lives were totally transformed by God's miraculous and redemptive power. Don't be a cultural Christian, be a converted follower of Christ.

HE IS RISEN.
