It is often said that human "sexual" drive is second only to the drive for food. But the sexual is a "want" drive, whereas food is a "necessary" drive. God made mankind with drives/desires. While it is true that sin has warped God's original design, it is still natural and normal for a person to have sexual desires.
Don't leave me.
God designed man perfectly and even in our fallen condition we are still exquisite. The Psalmist spoke about the omnipresence and omniscience of God and then pointed to man as the crowning achievement of God's creative work.
Psalms 139:14
(14) I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
We are almost there.God's design of man is so magnificent and intricate that it imbues the thoughtful mind with a fearful awe of God (the basic meaning in this passage). The human drive for sexual fulfillment is God given. Though the animal world has a baser drive, it is merely sentient, whereas man's desire is entwined with the higher, and spiritual quality of love. When separated from the higher, God given qualities of love and fidelity it becomes a tawdry amusement or a cruel master.
Okay, here it is.
Since God designed and created man to be sexual, He also established the standards by which this wonderful gift is to be enjoyed. Just as man is able to abuse the other gifts of God and abandon God's purpose for them, so he can corrupt the beauty of sexual intimacy. However, man does it at his own peril and the peril of the human family.
And finally.
God made sexual pleasure to be enjoyed within the marriage relationship of one man and one woman. The sexual relationship is especially exalted because it is the joining of the temple of the Holy Spirit. To sin against the human body, by illicit, un-Biblical sexual relations is a sin against the Holy Spirit. All people are responsible before God to give proper honor and dignity to the gift of sexual relations. To have sex outside of God ordained marriage is to join the temple of God with a harlot.
1 Corinthians 6:13-20
(13) Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
(14) And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
(15) Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
(16) What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
(17) But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
(18) Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
(19) What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
(20) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
