It is always a treat, sometimes a rare treat to catch what we want, when fishing or hunting.
However, Satan, as a hunter, usually bags what he wants, or as the Scripture says, "(people are taken) captive by him (Satan) at his will."
It takes the intervention of God, through the loving instruction of a sincere believer, for someone to escape Satan's grip.

2 Timothy 2:24-26
(24) And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
(25) In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
(26) And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
1. Satan, takes people captive at his will (vs. 26).
2. Believers instruct (train, chasten, scourge) the captured sinner in God's plan of salvation (vss. 24-25).
3. God gives, provides repentance to those who hear the gospel, and He provides forgiveness to those who accept His offer (vs. 25). Remember, God wants all men to come to repentance (1 Tm. 2:4).
4. The captive sinner must recover himself (by the grace of God) from the snare of the devil, by acknowledging the truth, and repenting (25-26).
