12/16/13 SAY YES TO "GOD TIME"
One of the main obstacles to personal growth and spiritual victory is the failure of a person to have a disciplined devotional life.
I am not talking about being rigidly structured, since that is usually out of the question in our modern society. Nor am I talking about a static formality that goes through the motion of ritual and liturgy. I am talking about a dynamic relationship that puts first things first, regardless of the demands made by a hectic schedule.
It is not only the obligations of life that demand our time, it is our need for personal time, which is a legitimate need. However, it seems there is much more demand on our time and energy than we can supply. This is where discipline comes into the equation.
We have to say yes to God-time, even if it means saying, "no" to other worthy commitments. It needs to be quality time as well as an adequate length of time, focus time, feasting time.
No one becomes great at any discipline without a dedication to that discipline. Corporate body life is important, but nothing replaces personal quiet time with God. Take a few moments to evaluate your alone time with God and set a new course for a closer walk.
