01/11/13 CERTAIN TRAGEDY

01/11/13 CERTAIN TRAGEDY

As we pulled up to the stop sign, the vehicle ahead of us sped immediately into the path of an oncoming 18 wheeler, traveling about 50 mph.

Instantly, David was calling 911, as we watched in horror and prayed for the driver of the car. The car was knocked hundreds of feet and the man was knocked out of his shoes as he bounced around the front seat.

We could do nothing. Nobody could do anything. The driver made a choice and nothing could reverse it.

I feel the same horror and helplessness as I watch people pull out of the safety of God's will, into the path of certain disaster. Their lives, their families, their eternity is but a breath away and I can do nothing. I might scream, I might wave wildly, but they have chosen the way of destruction.

Yes, God can intervene, but sometimes He just let's life run its course. God has never failed to reach out to us, but He never forces His salvation upon anyone.

God says, CHOOSE this day, whom you will serve. It is a choice we can make, it is a choice we must make. Those who end up in perdition, after hearing the gospel, have no one to blame but themselves, since it is not the will of God that any should perish, but rather, He wants them to change their minds and the direction of their lives.
