01/18/13 ATTENTION FELLOW WORKERS IN THE WORD...

I recently mentioned (go back 2 and 3 posts) that old, unconnected SMARTPHONES can still be used in various ways.

Here is a good use. A BIBLE STUDY LESSON can be made available on a WIFI connection. Text and other data can be obtained by these phones through FILE SHARING, while sitting in the same room.

If you know PEOPLE WHO WILL GIVE YOU their unused and disconnected smartphones, you can LOAN THEM TO PEOPLE IN YOUR STUDY, who do not have smartphones. Some of these can actually be INTERACTIVE with the leader or with the other participants. Let me know what you think. There are several advantages to this; one of which is, it might appeal to TECH MINDED people you are trying to reach.

It can also be used as an electronic Bible and as a Bible memorization tool, and to communicate the gospel with other people and pray with folks.

By The Way, if you end up with a smartphone that is not activated with phone service, consider either
1- Use it yourself as a hand held tool or even in a Bible study setting, or
2- Give it to a ministry (church or missionary) that can/will use it for ministry.

Ask your pastor if he can use it in ministry to others. If he does not need it, look for a ministry that can use it. By no means simply dump it or just leave it in a drawer. If you sell it, make sure the money you get is more valuable than the use it could provide in ministry.
