05/17/13 I FOUND MYSELF... IN HIS WILL
Jesus said that we, "...are in the world" (Jn. 17:11), but we, "...are not of the world" (Jn. 17:15).
To live as if we are not in this world, is to be so heavenly minded we are of no earthly good. To live as if we do not have our citizenship in heaven, is to be so earthly minded we are of no heavenly benefit/influence.
The lost man is stuck in a sin warp, and can't get out (1 Co. 2:14).
The carnal Christian is double minded and lives in the revolving door of sin, salvation, sin, salvation (1 Co. 2:1-3).
The Spirit filled believer is pure, even as Christ is pure (1 Jn. 3:3)and he does righteousness, even as Christ is righteous (1 Jn. 3:7).
This world is a mess, and getting messier every day.
In the world we have tribulation, but in Christ we have peace because He has overcome the world (Jn. 16:33), but the trying of our faith produces endurance and constancy, which results in our completeness (perfection), lacking nothing (Ja.1:3-4).
Those who continue (remain) in the faith, will enter the kingdom of God through much tribulation (Ac. 14:22), yet it will be an abundant entrance (2 Pe. 1:11).
When we truly trust God, He enables us to both, will and do His good pleasure (Ph. 2:13), which is the goal of the gospel (Co. 1:25-29).
