07/14/13 DISAPPOINTMENT, NOT BITTERNESS
When I read about some internationally renowned Christian legal ministries providing representation to cults and false religions of the world today, I remember watching them, along with certain world renowned Christian ministers, on nightly network news (about 3 decades ago), arguing before a U.S. Senate hearing, in behalf of an international cult leader, who claimed to be Christ, while our little church had to flee from state to state because those same champions of Christian liberty refused to align themselves with us in the most basic of Christian activities and parental rights.
I guess I should not be surprised at how things have turned out for the Christian community in the USA. By the way, the very injustice we were facing, and which they refused to withstand, is still used to oppress small local churches in America today. I have thought long and hard about these things, so my response is not a knee jerk reaction or an uniformed opinion, just in case you were wondering.
No bitterness, just sadly disappointed.
