08/25/13 WHAT AN OUTPOST OF HEAVEN IS LIKE

TIME SENSITIVE MESSAGE...
The condition of our society, our country, our world, all indicate that the world is on the brink of total collapse and chaos. The Bible clearly addresses the social, religious, moral, political, economic status of the world as it will be just before Christ returns. There is nothing that can be done to stop man's united attempt to overthrow God's rule in this world. We cannot avert the inevitable train wreck. But we can escape the coming disaster. God tells us what to do as we see this day approaching.

Hebrews 10:23-31 (with "DLG notes" added)
(23) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
DLG note... Grip tightly to Christ's message of salvation, especially as we see the coming days of adversity.

(24) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
DLG note... Christians must be mutually attentive and supportive; procuring and promoting holy living as difficult times arise.

(25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
DLG note... Do not follow in the steps of those who neglect worship, study and fellowship with other believers; intentionally meet with other Christ followers and encourage each to be faithful, as we see the rapid arival of the last days.

(26) For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
DLG note... Choosing to abandon Christ and His message will lead to utter hopelessness and destruction, since there is no other Savior. Denial of God's truth is refusal of God's deliverance.

(27) But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
DLG note... Not only is there no other way of salvation than Christ, there is certain condemnation for those who resist Christ's rule.

(28) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
(29) Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
DLG note... If the Jews, who rejected the law of God under Moses, were worthy of capital punishment, how much more egregious is it to reject the Son of God and His bloody sacrifice for sin.

(30) For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
DLG note... Though we live in the day of mercy and grace, there will be a day of God's judgment, which will be just and absolute.

(31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
DLG note... Those who will not be saved by the Merciful Savior Jesus will be condemned by the Mighty Sovereign Judge; those who do put faith in the Lamb of God will fall before the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. God is eternal: His power is eternal: His judgment is eternal. It is fearful to refuse, to insult, to rebel against the Living God.

DO WE HAVE EACH OTHER'S BACKS?
After posting my TIME SENSITIVE MESSAGE (my previous Status Update on FB), I was thinking how important it is for believers to, "have each other's backs." Christian grace demonstrates itself when we love each other as we love ourselves, and when we think more highly of one another than we do ourselves, and when we prefer others before ourselves, and it goes on. We need to have each other's backs. When we do, we model the passage that says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity" (Ps. 133:1).

On the other hand, how UNGOOD, how bad, how disjointed, and how unpleasant, how disruptive, how bitter it is for people to live with disunity. This situation fits the more serious application of phrase, "I've got your back in my crosshairs."

Live in God's grace. Be gracious. I need it from you and you need it from me and we all need it from one another.

Each line in each verse of this song was based on a Scripture verse. Sister Robin has written many outstanding songs. I wish I could sing it for you, because it is very well done. I have given her Bible references after each line, for your own study.

Remember, these are not just lyrics to a song, they are the revealed word of God. Remember, these are not just pious platitudes, they are practical precepts, attainable only by surrender of self and obedient faith in Christ.

With these truths, with this kind of music, we can be the family of God on earth.

Love One Another
by Robin Weston
This song was taken from Ga. 5:13-15 and Ro. 13:8-10

Love One Another...
Chorus
You are my brother, you are my sister,
You are my family, let us love one another.
You are my brothers, you are my sisters,
We'er God's own family, let us serve one another.

1st vs.
Jesus has saved us, redeemed and remade us,
Adopted into God's fam'ly, because of His love in us we can say:

Ch.

2nd vs.
Freed from our bondage to sin, return not to it again,
Love your neighbor as yourself, for the fulfillment of law is love.

Ch.

3rd vs.
Showing my love to be true by doing good deeds to you,
Giving and forgiving and so I prove my love by my living.

Ch.

DLG note...
Wow. A church that hears this with its heart is truly an outpost of heaven.
