09/10/13 METAPHOR ALERT...
proximity to the source

I relocated my router. Wow. My computer speed is awesome. It almost pulls up sites before I key them in. Hehehe.

The closer we are to God; the stronger, clearer, quicker our communication with Him. He will even answer before we call (Is. 65:24). Sometimes we need to make changes in our lives to have a better communication/relationship with God.

CALLING ON GOD...
I parenthesize the specific verse (vs), but please read the entire passage for a great blessing. I have included passages of God's BLESSING and a passage concerning of God's CURSING. Read both and be instructed, be enabled, be blessed.

GOD'S BLESSING
Psalms 86:7-10 (7)

(7) In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
(8) Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
(9) All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
(10) For thou art great, and (You) do wondrous things: thou art God alone.
DLG note... God is the only true God and He will reign victorious over all nations.

Psalms 91:9-16 (VS. 15)
(9) Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
(10) There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
(11) For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
(12) They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
(13) Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
(14) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
(15) He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
(16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
DLG note.. Though this is a Messianic passage, the blessing of the Messiah is also extended to His followers. It is through Jesus (Messiah) that Christians have their prayers answered and receive long, satisfying (eternal) life.

Psalms 102:1-2 (2)
(1) ... Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
(2) Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.

Isaiah 58:6-11 (9).

[DLG note... Calling and Answering as it is related to serving God and others].
(6) Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
(7) Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou see the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
(8) Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
(9) Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
(10) And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
(11) And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Isaiah 65:24
(24) And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
DLG note... Though this passage is related to the Thousand Year Earthly Reign of Christ, this verse is applicable to the Christian walk.

Jeremiah 33:3
(3) Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou know not.
DLG note... Paul addressed this.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
(9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
(10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

GOD'S CURSING...
Proverbs 1:23-33 (28)

(23) Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.
(24) Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
(25) But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
(26) I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes;
(27) When your fear comes as desolation, and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish comes upon you.
(28) Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
(29) For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
(30) They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
(31) Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
(32) For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
(33) But whoso hearkens unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
