10/07/13 DIVINE GRACE REQUIRED FOR ONE AND ALL
If it is possible for a Christian to resist ONE temptation, then why can't he resist ALL temptation?
Resisting temptation is not simply a human accomplishment, it is the result of trusting and following Christ as Lord. Yielding to temptation is the result of NOT trusting and following Christ as Lord. If we do not trust and follow Christ, we are not believers.
God commands resistance to all temptation.
God provides grace to resist all temptation.
God leads us not into temptation.
God delivers us from all evil.
God provides a way to escape all temptation.
The idea that we must, or we inevitably will yield to temptation is a lie of the devil, who sinned from the beginning and also told Eve that sin would not bring death.
Of course, there are some very compelling human arguments in favor of sinning religion... NOT. Let God be true and every man a liar.
