If there was an ancient treasure of untold wealth, and an equally old treasure map that was said to give directions to that treasure, wouldn't it be reasonable to at least consider the claims of the map? However, if the map had been misinterpreted and had been copied (with speculative changes) and had been denounced as a fake or fantasy or fiction by supposed authorities, then maybe it would not attract the attention of very many treasure hunters.
This is what has happened with the spiritual realm and eternal life. It is a treasure to be found. The Bible is the map, but it has been misinterpreted and maligned by supposed experts, thus causing it to fall into disuse and disrepute.
Only a few people will hear the voice of God calling them to a relationship with Himself and a very few will read the Bible with the guidance of the Spirit of God.
As a result, only a very few will find the treasure. (consider these verses)
Matthew 13:44
(44) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10
(9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
(10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Matthew 19:28-30
(28) And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
(29) And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
(30) But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.
BECAUSE I CARE, BECAUSE I LOVE YOU...
This is why I "harp on" about the Bible, Salvation, Christ.
(I know that very few will read this, and I hope you are one of them).
There is a treasure, which can be found, and it will benefit you, both Now and Later, because it provides Good and Plenty, and it is much sweeter than tongue can tell.
THE BIBLE is understandable and essential to successful living. Remember, life is more than food and drink, more than attire and abode, more than subsistence and luxury. Life is spiritual, it is relational, it is moral, it is eternal, and the Bible is God's way of showing us that life and providing that life.
SALVATION is not only eternity spent with God, it is eternal life, here and now.
It is a higher quality of life, not just endless quantity of life. In fact, it is life, because anything less is mere existence.
CHRIST said He is the only way to God. He is God with us, He is God in the Flesh, He is the Son of God. This is what separates Biblical Christianity from all other religions of the world.
I am not promoting a religion, but a living and vital relationship that brings life to full fruition.
