10/26/13 SICKLY SUBSTRATA SOCIETY OR ALIVE IN CHRIST?
The problem with most people in our society (at least until recently) is not that they are openly and adamantly opposed to Christ and the Bible, but that they are ignorant and apathetic to the importance and reality of the Bible and Christ.
Imagine the kind of people that would populate our world if we were ignorant of nutritional and hygienic facts. We would be a sickly, substrata society, living as supposed "primitives" in a "prehistoric world."
This is what happens spiritually to those who are living without the light of the Bible and the life of Christ; they are sickly spiritual substrata. They live on the level of uneducated "cave dwellers" instead of people who are spiritually enlightened partakers of divine nature.
This is why the song (Amazing Grace) says, "I once was blind but now I see." In fact, until Christ came into our lives, "We were dead in our sins and trespasses," but for those who will attune themselves to the Christian faith, they become alive to God and to life on the higher (highest) plane.
