01/15/13 BEARING ARMS AND FREEDOM OF RELIGION

01/15/13 BEARING ARMS AND FREEDOM OF RELIGION

I hope you read my previous post. But I also thought about this, and it stands alone.

While I hope America retains the Right to Bear Arms and the Right to Freedom of Religion there is an interesting obligation that goes with both.

1- The Second Amendment is for the purpose of violently resisting oppressive government. If you want the right to wear the sword, you should bear the sword against all enemies, domestic and foreign, otherwise, there is no reason for the Right to Bear Arms.

I believe it is the job of the State to align itself with the rule of order, under God's civil and moral authority, and when any so-called government resists and thwarts the power (authority) of God, it relinquishes its legitimate claim to rule and power over its people (Romans 13).

2- The First Amendment is for the purpose of allowing Christians to freely exercise their faith in Christ. Unless the people who call themselves Christians begin to witness to a lost society and also to obey God rather than men, when Caesar and God clash, then there is no reason for Freedom of Religion. If Americans want to retain either of these rights, then there needs to be a surge in Biblical Christianity and active practice of the First Amendment. If not, then there is no reason to whine and complain about the loss of the Second Amendment.

SO...
Either take up the sword of the Spirit, serving Christ, or take up the sword of steel and protect the right of Christians to obey God freely and to establish a society that honors morality and Christian principles. We need to walk the talk.

Now, what do I think is going to happen? I think America is going the way of other fallen, apostate nations. I think America does not figure into end times events, because America will turn completely against God and follow the heathen ways. I hope I am wrong. Either way, our only hope is faith in Christ.
