01/15/13 THE TRUE FREEDOM
Here is something to think about. It is not pleasant and it may even make you angry with me. But I am just the messenger.
I do not want to see America lose its Right to Bear Arms. However, we have not been good stewards of that right or the Right of Freedom of Religion.
Other countries that have gone away from God have lost whatever freedoms they have had. But, a strange thing sometimes happens. Nations that come under autocratic rule and persecution are revitalized spiritually. This has happened behind the Iron and Bamboo Curtains, in Africa as well as other places.
Oh, I don't think it will help with those who have been rejecting Christ in America, but I think it will create an atmosphere where new converts will be more committed than what we have seen in the past. Even if we retain Right to Bear Arms, I don't see much evidence that America is going to turn to Christ. Disturbing thoughts.
The best thing for us to do is make our own calling and election sure.
Make our focus on...
Christ, not Colts;
Redemption, not Remington;
Salvation and Witnessing, not Smith and Wesson;
The Gospel, not Glock.
Do not misunderstand what I am saying. I want both freedoms left intact. But without seeking and following God in America, Liberty is just another word for Libertinism, Freedom is just another word for Faithlessness.
Remember, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Remember, Jesus is the Truth, and knowing the truth will set us free.
