10/22/13 CLEAN, HOLY, PURE, RIGHTEOUS

10/22/13 CLEAN, HOLY, PURE, RIGHTEOUS

One of the most important, yet least popular aspects of the Christian experience and life is spiritual/moral CLEANSING or CLEANNESS. Satan has always hated clean hearts and lives, so he has fought especially hard against this part of salvation.

Other words that are used in connection with this fundamental truth are, Pure, Purity, Purified, Holy, Holiness, Sanctify, Sanctified, Sanctification, Righteous, Righteousness, Righteously, Saint.

Satan hates this concept so much that he broad brushes this work of God with the false accusation of legalism and says it is unattainable. We should no more fear or avoid holiness because of the possibility of legalism, than we should avoid or fear justification, because of the possibility of hypocrisy.

A salvation that declares you to be clean, when in fact you are still corrupt, inwardly or outwardly, is a demonic salvation, in other words, it is no salvation at all.

Our society, even the church-world loves its unclean words, actions, thoughts, relationships, entertainments. To find a person who desires and lives in holiness of heart and life is a rarity. While worldly people will never come to a place of purity in their lives until they get saved, it is a double tragedy to see those who claim the name of Christ choose to live in uncleanness and refuse to be purified, even as Christ is pure.
