10/23/13 PRAISE and WORSHIP...

10/23/13 PRAISE and WORSHIP...

These are not just religious words or the name of a specific kind of religious service. They are the attitudes and actions of people who are truly in love with God. They are not hard to understand, yet are seldom experienced because very few people get to the point of self abandonment and enter into total absorption with Christ.

Some people actually praise and worship, Praise and Worship, though they never enter into the praise and worship of God.

Praise and worship should come easily when all of life is served to us on a platter, yet most people glory in their blessings instead of the One Who blesses them. However, if we do not praise and worship when things are going our way, it will be almost impossible to praise and worship when we are facing difficulties. This is tragic, because one of the ways to escape our struggles and the snare of the devil is through praise and worship.

If you find that you have not truly praised and worshiped God when your were abundantly blessed, now is the time to start, before things get worse. To praise and worship now does not necessarily preclude more testing, difficulty and suffering, but if we must face sore trials, it is better to enter into them with praise and worship, rather than negativity.

I was re-reading my own post (I do that a lot), and noticed that there are several words or concepts that jump out to me. These words help me understand the importance of praise and worship as well as the nature of praise and worship. Let me just mention them.

Attitudes and Actions.
Easily understood, Seldom experienced.
Self abandonment, Total absorption with Christ.
Should come easily, Yet people misplace their praise and worship.
If you failed in past, Praise now.
Better to enter time of testing praising than complaining.
